Abstract

Agriculture in India contributes about one third to the country’s national income, is increasingly become a female activity. According to official estimates, one third of agricultural labour force and nearly half of self-employed farmers are women. Of the total female work force in rural areas 89.5 percent are employed in agriculture and allied industrial sectors.
