Abstract

It is very clear on going through India’s engagement with the countries of Southeast Asia that in the initial years of their formation both the side had tried to build up strong relations. But as their relations fell into the grip of the cold war, they lost focus and their relations suffered a major setback. It was only after the cold war ended that they were able to concentrate on building their relationship.
