Abstract

The research aimed to explore the impact of resource allocation on agribusiness project performance in Rwanda through three specific objectives: assessing work breakdown structure, resource leveling, and resource-constrained scheduling within PRODEV Rwanda Ltd's Maize Project. Recommendations from this study target researchers, scholars, Mount Kenya University, government entities, and PRODEV Rwanda Ltd. The study employed descriptive case study research with qualitative and quantitative approaches, involving a population of 74, which constituted the sample due to its size. Data analysis utilized SPSS software, focusing on mean, standard deviation, percentages, and Pearson correlations to establish relationships between variables. Findings indicated majority agreement among respondents regarding the importance of breaking down projects into manageable components and adjusting project schedules to accommodate changes. Efficient resource allocation was also highlighted as crucial, with negotiation playing a significant role in achieving project goals. Recommendations included comparing actual costs with budget estimates, estimating project office costs, and providing financial reports to enhance project cost control. The study recommended further research on budget planning in non-profit organizations and managing expenses in mining projects in Rwanda.
