Quality Management in Anganwadi Centers Services in Consumer Perspective

In India, AnganWadi Centers (AWCs) playing a key role in securing the health of pregnant women and nascent child population. They act as the monitoring agencies to ensure nutritional and medical requirement of the child and pregnant women across the nation. The impact of the AWCs services is crucial in nurturing the future generation of the country. Due to lack of commitment in worker of AWCs and accountability in delivering services a significant share in the total AWCs of Andhra Pradesh have became defunct. Even in the active AWCs, quality in the services that they have provided was questioned by various research reports. In this regard a case study is executed to assess the quality in services provided by the AWC-1 at Veparala village in Mylavaram mandal, Kadapa district, based on the consumers’ satisfaction on various activities rendered by the AWC. The Regression results of the study highlighted that variables like consumer satisfaction on quantity and quality of the food supplied in the AWC, required home visits by AWC’s personnel, responsibility of the AWC helper, Hygiene and safety issues in AWC, Accountability and responsibility of the AWC’s personnel are positively influencing the consumer satisfaction on AWC’s services quality.
